Re: Promulgation of UCLA Interim Policy 927: Conflict of Interests in Department of Energy Funded Projects
Dear Colleagues:
The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Creative Activities has published interim UCLA Policy 927: Conflicts of Interest in Department of Energy Funded Projects. This policy implements the 2022, U.S. Department of Energy Interim Conflict of Interest Policy Requirements for Financial Assistance.
The DOE Interim Policy establishes standards that provide a reasonable expectation that the purpose, design, conduct, or reporting of projects funded under DOE financial assistance awards (e.g. grants, cooperative agreements or technology investment agreements) will be free from bias resulting from financial conflicts of interest or organizational conflicts of interest.
Interim Policy 927 is intended to provide direction to the campus until a final UCLA policy is approved through the customary formal review process, in accordance with UCLA Policy 100. While Policy 927 is on interim status, please feel free to review the interim policy on the Administrative Policies and Procedures website and send any comments to ajoyce@conet.ucla.edu.
Thank you for taking the time to review and comment on the interim policy.
Sincerely,
Roger M. Wakimoto
Vice Chancellor for Research and Creative Activities
